Is an ADHD assessment right for my child?
If your child is struggling with focus, impulsivity, or emotional regulation, you may be wondering whether ADHD could be part of their profile.
At Child in Mind Psychology, we provide comprehensive ADHD assessments for children and adolescents across Sydney, including the St George area.
-
An ADHD assessment is a structured process used to understand your child’s attention, behaviour, and executive functioning.
We use evidence-based assessment tools, including standardised questionnaires (e.g. Conners-4, BRIEF-2, BASC-3), cognitive and academic testing, and detailed clinical interviews to build a complete picture of your child’s needs.
-
You might consider an assessment if your child:
Has difficulty sustaining attention or is easily distracted
Appears constantly “on the go” or restless
Acts impulsively or struggles with self-control
Finds it difficult to follow instructions or complete tasks
Experiences emotional outbursts or frustration
Is having challenges at school or with friendships
Zones out or appears to not respond to their name or instructions
Forgets easily
Needs support staying organised
An assessment can help clarify whether ADHD is contributing to these experiences.
